Dear RBS Family, April 26, 2024
It was a busy Friday here at RBS! Students had the opportunity to visit and enjoy the Around the World Fair. The gymnasium was alive with excitement as classes visited the various booths and learned about different countries and their rich cultures. There were many smiling faces of students with their passports stamped and bags filled with all kinds of goodies from their travel adventures! Thank you to the many parent volunteers and teachers who helped put this event together for our RBS students. It is something that everyone looks forward to each year.
Today, students also had a special visit from some Avon High School theater students who traveled the hallways performing scenes and singing songs from their upcoming musical Beauty and the Beast. So many fun things for a Friday - be sure to ask your child what their favorite part of today was!
As many of you know, members of our Avon community were impacted by the fire at Avon Place earlier this week. In conjunction with the PTO and Student Council, we will be having a “Wear a Hat to School” Day, next Friday, May 3rd. It will be an optional school-wide fundraiser and money collected (we are suggesting students to bring in $3 on the Third!) will be used to donate together with the PTO to support affected families. In addition, through the toiletries drive our Student Council recently held, they were able to deliver 235 much-needed toiletries to Social Services for the families impacted by the recent fire! We are so lucky to have such a helpful and talented group of student leaders!
