Dear RBS Family,
Greetings! We have been busy at RBS enjoying the fall weather and all the gorgeous colors that autumn brings our way. Speaking of colors, we had a colorful week last week, showing our school spirit in several ways. Last Thursday, we held a school-wide RBS Spirit Day, with many students and staff wearing our school colors of blue and white, as well as our awesome RBS spirit-wear. On Friday, students and staff wore a “Sea of Pink” to raise money for Breast Cancer awareness, and we were able to raise $535 as a school to donate to this cause. Thank you, Student Council members for organizing this awesome event - what a wonderful way to help students feel connected to each other, their school, and the community at large, all while lending support to those in need!
Thank you to Lisa Cleveland for coming to RBS from AMS for a couple weeks while Mike Renkawitz was out of state on a pre-planned trip, we truly enjoyed getting to know her better. Mike is now back at RBS and continuing to enjoy his elementary experiences!
As we conclude October (I literally can’t believe it as I type this!), there are some other events we are looking forward to:
Costume Parade
On October 31st, our kindergarten classes will be participating once again in our annual Costume Parade at Avon High School. Similar to past years, parents of kindergarten students are welcome to line up outside on the front sidewalk of RBS to catch a glimpse of students parading before they board buses for AHS. It will be such a treat for our students and for the high schoolers to see all the great costumes!
Veterans Day Assembly
On Friday, November 10th, we will be holding our annual Veteran’s Day Assembly. In addition to vocal performances from our fabulous 3rd graders, we are planning a number of meaningful activities to honor and celebrate our veterans and their families. A communication was sent out last week to families - please respond to that if you would like to share the name of a family member who has served in the Armed Forces and would like them to be recognized.
