Blazer's Bulletin 02/25/22

February 25, 2022

Dear RBS Family,

This winter it’s sure felt like “if it’s a Friday, it’s a snow-day,” right?! Ah well, one cannot control the weather, only what we do with it, and so I hope you’re able to stay warm and cozy and also have some fun with the “littles” playing, sledding, skiing (and shoveling!) this weekend. A few updates as we head into March – yes March J! - next week.

  • By now you’ve likely had a chance to read our Superintendent’s updates as they relate to our lifting of mask requirements when we return to school Monday, February 28th. Susan and I shared this information with our students via our regular Morning Announcements yesterday, where we talked about how we all need different things to feel comfortable, and that there’s no right or wrong choices here, only what is right for you and your family. Change is always tricky, for adults and for our kids; please feel comfortable reaching out to any of us with any questions you might have. (And please do remember that masks are still required for everyone on our school buses; we will of course update you if/when this changes!)
  • The month of March is always a busy one at RBS, and we’re excited next week to recognize and celebrate our passion for reading by participating in Read Across America week next week! Among the many wonderful traditions we’re excited to bring back this year is an “Drop Everything and Read” moment on Wednesday, March 2nd – make sure your child has a great book or two they’re excited about reading when we all sit, relax, and just read read read on Wednesday morning!
  • March is also when we host our Spring Parent/Teacher conferences! This year, they will take place on Thursday, March 10th and Friday March 11th – both days will be early dismissals for our students (11:50 AM for K-4 an 11:30 AM for PK). Your child’s teacher will be reaching out to your soon (if not already) about setting up a time for you to meet virtually or in person to celebrate your child’s accomplishments and set ‘final-third goals’!

May you all enjoy a great (and dare I saw, “final!?”) snow day, and we can’t wait to have everyone back at the Brook on Monday!

-Noam, Susan, and the RBS Team
