Blazer's Bulletin 04/22/2022

April 22, 2022

Dear RBS Family,

I hope last week’s Spring Break was a fantastic one for you and yours. Our students (and staff!) returned rested and ready for the busy final two months of school – as we say this time of year with all the energy and excitement we’re seeing, the ‘brook is definitely roaring ??’!

A few updates as we wrap up the week:

  • You know that RBS has always been a strong advocate for outdoor, hands-on experiences, and we’re delighted that we’re recognizing Earth Day today by an ‘all-are-invited’ experience on our beautiful Blazer’s Trail this afternoon. Beginning right after school today, come join us for a Story Walk along the trail with a book perfect for this gorgeous, sunny day: Kenard Pak’s Goodbye Winter, Hello Spring. I’m deeply proud of our school and community’s commitment to the Trail – it’s a true highlight of the RBS experience – and we’d love to see you here to participate in our Story Walk, running from 3:30 – 5:00 PM today!
  • A highlight of this past week was our first in-person Kindergarten Parent Night since 2019, where we welcomed the next members of the RBS family to our classrooms and café to get a taste of the Kindergarten experience. If you (or friends or neighbors – feel free to spread the word!) have an incoming Kindergarten student for the fall of 2022, please be sure that you begin the registration process as soon as you can, as it’s critical for our planning and placement purposes for the next school year.
  • At the other end of our grade level continuum, our Third and Fourth graders are beginning their SBAC Statewide math and ELA assessments next week. We know they’re well prepared and well equipped to show what they know – they’ve definitely “got this”!
  • And our collective thanks to our PTO and our RBS staff for putting together a wonderful set of Auction items for the end of the school year. Bids are due by the end of business today; I hear the “Principal for a Day” is particularly fun - haha!....

Wishing you a great weekend of fun and relaxation, and of course, running around from field to field for Spring sports ??

Be well,

Noam, Susan, and the whole RBS Team
